Wright can’t put a foot Wrong!

Spencer Wright has done it again – another weekend of great big kippers. That makes it 6 UK 40’s in May.  Strewth!

‘I managed an overnighter Friday, arriving in the cold, wind and rain. Got soaked but managed to get the rods on the spots and at about 1am had a stuttery take, which then resulted in a 20 minute fight where I knew I was attached to a very big fish. I thought (in my head) it was the lakes biggie, which could be nudging 50, but after netting the fish was surprised to see the Linear sitting there again, which pulled the scales down to 47-7 and left at 8am, but not before putting another hit of bait on the spots.

I then did an 8 hour day session on Sunday, only one other fish had been out over the weekend, a 21+ stocky, but got there at 8am, got the rods out and even though I spent most of the day looking they were conspicuous by there absence. But with an hour to go, I was shocked when one of the rods absolutely ramped off, I couldn’t even tighten the drag cap up as it just went and went as I lifted into it. After a 30 minute arm aching battle in which I never thought it was going to give up, another lovely mirror sailed into the net, which weighed 41-7, meaning I have now had 6 UK 40’s this month! I’m still in shock….’
