Sean reaps more Roach Pit jewels

Sean Leverett has continued his good form on the Roach Pit with a run of absolutely stunning carp. The Roach Pit’s stock is made up of arguably some of the best looking carp in the country and using heavy baiting tactics, Sean has once again been getting amongst them.

Since my first session success on the Roach Pit where I had 6 bites of which I landed 5, things have continued to go well for me. Over the last few weeks I have managed a further 6 fish to 43lb 11oz, a fish aptly named Shaun’s fish. I have also had a repeat of Orange Scale just 3 weeks after landing it the first time. In that 3 weeks the fish had clearly been having a feed as at 40lb 4oz it was almost 2lb up on when I caught it first time round.

A combination of the new Krill boilie which is still on test from Sticky Baits, their Bloodworm Extract Pellet, The Oily Hemp and the Pure Liquid Krill fished with a mixed seed have managed to keep the bites coming when used with either a pop-up or a Snowman. Rig wise I have switched over from the Chod and have been using the Multi Rig more as the areas I have been fishing have allowed me to and in all honesty, if I can fish a safety clip set up rather than the Chod rig then I will.

The ESP Ejector Lead clips are perfect for my style of angling as they are soft enough that they discharge the lead easily on the take. This in turn gets the fish up into the higher layers early on in the fight and gives you a better chance of landing the fish when fishing weedier waters. Hook link wise for both the pop-up rig and snowman rig I have 100% faith in the 25lb Choddy Silt TwoTone from ESP and hook wise I use the size 5 Stiff Rigger. I have used a fair few hook link materials over the years and this one ticks all the boxes. I simply cannot fault either of these products, they never let me down and when I’m fishing for the stamp of fish that there are in Roach Pit then to know that you don’t need to think twice about you’re terminal tackle is great.

Let’s hope things continue…

Sean.
