Hot on the heels of his Sutton treble last week, Alex West has been back and had another one in the shape of this lovely 33lb 14oz common. Here’s what happened:
‘I found some bubblers on the Sunday Afternoon in front of the high point, it had been raining most of the morning so I had a hunch fish would be in open water. My Mate Spike turned up for a few hours, dropping in the Gate to my right. During the last hour of his stay and half hour after he left fish were showing on his right hand area. With nothing showing in front of my swim, I moved for the last hour and a half casting to the shows. Within half an hour the right hand rod took off and resulted in this stunning common’.
ESP Sniper Rods, 15lb Syncro XT, Tungsten tubing, Tungsten Loaded hooklink to a size 6 Gripper and a Sticky Krill hook bait did the trick.
