Ben Tipney sent us pictures of a lovely brace of old mirrors caught back in October from a southern pit. Although it was a while ago we couldn’t not share these fish as I’m sure you’ll agree they are stunners! Here’s what Ben had to say, top angling mate!
Here’s a couple of cracking 30s (2 of the 3 biggest mirrors in the lake) caught back in October. They were caught on a quick overnight session within 2 hours of each other, 1st session back on the lake after more than a year away! I pre-baited a deep silt gully at 20 yards range for 2 weeks then fished it when conditions looked bang on for that part of the lake. The bigger fish hadn’t been caught for 4 years before this capture, and was rumoured to have died or been moved, so made it a special catch.
They were caught using ESP Leadcore leaders, 20lb Two-Tone Stripteaze hooklinks, size 5 Stiff Riggers and Trent Baits Freshwater Shrimp corkballers fished on multi-rig.
