Tony Burnham from High Wycombe had an excellent result recently, with this monstrous common from Yateley North Lake. Here’s what Tony had to say about the capture:
‘This year I had been targeting the three big commons in Yateley North Lake, last Friday I managed to get down a little earlier than usual and had a fair choice of swims. After seeing some very subtle signs out in front of waiting mans the decision was made for the night.
I was rudely awoken at 4am to a stuttery take which resulted in a 32.02 mirror, a quick brew and I got a new rig out to the spot.
Twenty minutes latter the same rods away and this fish felt a lot larger with a very slow and dogged fight up and down the margins. After about 15 minutes Scotty lifted the net around a large common. The fish turned out to be the third biggest common known as Snub Nose at 42.08. The fish was taken on the the new Terry Hearn Classics (lovely) and 18lb Syncro XT… One down, two to go..’
