Sean Leverett enjoyed a lovely result last week and they don’t come much prettier than this stunning fully scaled mirror. Here’s the full story from Sean:
‘After managing to get out on the bank at the start of the week I ended up at the Bayeswater Syndicate lake. I set up in an area I’d seen some fish show but soon after getting the rods out all went quiet.
The night was uneventful despite hearing a couple roll down to my left but during the following morning I saw a few fish rolling out longer to my right. When I saw a fish roll closer towards me I wound in my right rod, attached a fresh pop-up and cast towards where it had showed.
I got a firm drop on the first cast so left it where it had landed and within less than an hour the rod was away. It was soon weeded up so I walked down the bank with the rod and a net in an attempt to get at the fish from another angle. This worked and before long I’d got the fish moving and soon in the net.
At 26lb 5oz it is one of the smaller fish in the lake but when they are as stunning as this size is who cares how big they are..
All rods were set up on multi rigs constructed using the new ESP prototype Tungsten hooklink material along with the ESP prototype Stiff rigger hook in size five. Ejector lead lead clips and flexi anchor tube completed the set up while mainline wise I was using the ESP 18lb Syncro XT Loaded . Hook bait was a home made corkball pop-up’.
