Terry Hearn returned to Ashmead for his first visit of the spring last week and despite an uneventful first few days of the trip he was rewarded on Friday morning with Moon Scale, the second biggest fish in the lake at a weight of 43lb 8oz.
Terry said: “I fished and looked hard for four days and nights, three swim moves, no signs at all, then on my last evening I saw five shows in ten minutes. Had the take at 8am the next morning 🙂“
An excellent result for Tel and a big piece of the jigsaw in his ultimate pursuit for the lake’s largest resident, a 50lb+ mirror called Single Scale. Terry caught Moon Scale on the prototype rods he is testing for ESP and the business end incorporated a new prototype hook.
These hooks have been through the testing process since last Autumn and we will continue to test and refine them until they are 100% perfect but early signs indicate they are just a little bit special.
