Marcus Howarth’s vintage year continued last week with the capture of the much revered Jamie’s from the Roach Pit in Ringwoodshire.
The Wimborne based trawlerman stalked what must be one of the best looking carp in the country on a free-lined piece of crust a rod length out, after he found it lurking in a weedy corner of the pit.
It is apparently only the 9th time this carp has ever been caught, which considering the amount of pressure the Roach Pit has seen over the years makes it a super elusive beast. However, no self-respecting carp could resist the tasty morsel shared from Marcus’ home made cheese and pickle sandwich and it was this, impaled on a size 6 Big-T which lead to its downfall.
What a carp, well done Marcus!
