Mr Consistent Kev Hewitt keeps producing the good over at Linear Manor Farm, this time with ‘one of each’:
Kev Hewitt from Cotswold angling Swindon slipped the net under a brace of thirties from linear fisheries Manor Farm during a recent session. The first of the brace being this beautifully marked dark common of 30Lb 10oz and Kev followed this up with an equally impressive mirror of 35Lb 8oz.
The fish tripped up on kevs version of the popular hinged stiff rig fished with a CCMoore Equinox cork ball pop up. Kev fished a short 6″ boom of 25Lb ESP Strip Teaze two tone attached to a ready made ESP Short Chod Rig where he used ESP Super Floss to attach his hookbait.
ESP Short Chod rigs provide all the advantages of regular length chod rigs but offer a lower, more discreet presentation with the hook bait positioned closer to the lake bed. This makes them ideal for fishing over gravel, sand and shallow deposits of silt and weed – whilst still providing the deadly effective hooking arrangement of the perfectly curved, classic chod rig.
