Kev Hewitt knows a thing or two about zig fishing and the time was right at the weekend. Kev visited Linear Fisheries and here’s how he got on:
‘I managed to get out for a 24 hour session on Linear fisheries Manor farm over the weekend. There were a few empty pegs when I turned up and there were a few fish showing about 60 yards out on the road bank.
I barrowed round and decided to cast 3 ESP Zig Bugs to where the fish were showing. The rods had only been out for about 5 minutes when one was snaffled up and a drop back registered.
The result was a stunning zip linear which looked near 20Lb when the next rod was away. This time the culprit was a 26Lb 8oz mirror.
A couple of quick fish turned out to be my only bites of the 24 hour session. Looking back I probably should have stuck it out on zigs rather than fishing on the bottom through the night, there was a massive hatch and my brolly was crawling with wildlife during the night. If ever there was a time to get on the zig bugs it has to be now!’
