With spring finally arriving in earnest at the weekend it was no surprise that the carp started to feed. Waters that hadn’t produced a bite for what seemed like ages sprung into life and Isle of Wight based Spencer Wright took advantage of the favorable conditions in fine style.
Fishing Friday night, Spencer caught three mirrors weighing 19.02, 34.08 and 38.08. These three and the fish Spence caught back in February are the only carp to have been caught from the venue so far this year.
All three fell to Spence’s ‘old faithful’ presentation of a reverse combi ‘anchor’ rig comprising brown ESP Camo Sink Link 15lb ties to 15lb Stiff Bristle filament and a size 7 Stiff Rigger hook and boilies hook baits.
