Here’s another late report from Ben Tipney with news of a lovely looking mirror from Thorney Weir last November:

‘This one is a 34.00 mirror from Thorney Weir – I started fishing it in November to practice for UK Carp Cup, as my eliminator is being held there in the spring.

I caught it tight to snags, on a cut down Trent Baits Freshwater Shrimp 15mm Pop-up tipped with maggots, over a bed of maggots, crushed boilie and groundbait.

End tackle was ESP Leadcore leader, ESP Leadclip, 20lb Strip-Teaze hooklink, and size 8 barbless Curve Shanx.’
