Alex West had a right result from Sutton the other day, read on to see how he tempted Baby Blind Eye from one of the most pressured, tricky waters around.
I finally managed to dust off the rods for the first time since last November for a proper little trip. On my second session managed a nice one. Here is a pic of a peach of a carp called Baby Blind Eye at 33lb 6oz. Probably one of the most elusive carp in the lake. Caught over a Kilo of 18/14mm Cell at 40yards range at the back of a gravel bar. It took 20 minutes to land during a day session with 20 other anglers on the lake!!
I had the four bleep bite from an area where I had seen fish lump out, it was kiting from the off and despite the line rubbing through an overhanging willow I managed to get the fish through by plunging the top section of the rod deep under water and pump it free.
Taken using ESP Sniper 3lb tc rods and ESP Syncro XT mainline and rig components and size 8 Long Shanx hooks.
The ESP Sniper II 13’ 3lb rod, is a great all rounder, with an optimum casting weight of 3oz for long range casting, it is also perfectly comfortable casting heavier leads and PVA bags at short to medium range.
