David Meek has re-captured his buzz for carping after a bit of a lay off this year. Returning to his native Roach Pit in Ringwood, David targeted a relatively un-fancied area after seeing fish activity there. The Little Snub weighing 30lb 8oz came after moving to the new swim, and the take signaled ten minutes after casting out. The Friendly Mirror came the following morning. Both rods were fished to a silty gully which were a gentle lob out.
Tackle used: ESP Syncro 15lb, ESP Leadcore, Size 4 Curve-Shanx, ESP Two Tone 25LB. Tied very simply, un-stripped apart from a small millimeter section, to turn the hook. With an 18mm Red Herring bottom bait.
David said he was ‘really happy with the captures as both are good looking carp and reignited my buzz for fishing’. Well that’s what it’s all about!
