Ben Tipney has been doing very well on Thorney Weir in preparation for the UK Carp Cup, here’s what he had to say:
“I thought it might be worth sending you a few pics of fish I had from Thorney Weir for the site as some of them are stunners. In practice sessions for the UK Carp Cup I had 18 fish and lost 6 over 3 nights and 2 days of angling (not all one session). The fish came on small pop ups fished on blowback rig using size 8 ESP curve shank (barbless) and 20lb Strip-teaze hooklink, using light leads on the ESP lead clips which are great for weedy waters as they eject on the time every time, ESP leadcore (simply the best by far).
I’d also like to say that I’ve recently loaded my reels up with the new Syncro line and have been really impressed with it. I’ve used Suffix Synergy for years and IMO couldn’t find anything better, but thought I’d give the Syncro a try as it’s had such good reviews – I’ve only had this on for about 6 weeks but it’s done very well for long chucks and landing good fish in weed, so all good so far – think I might be a convert!”
The XT of Syncro literally stands for extra tough, indicating that this exceptional monofilament is highly abrasion resistant and durable.
