German angler “Super” Mario Winnikes warmed up for the football last Saturday by catching this cracking mirror. Here he takes up the story:
“On Saturday, just a few hours before the start of Germany vs. Ghana I caught a very special fish.
It was one of the very few carp of that lake, it was never caught before (at that lake every angler, but me, does catch & kill) and at 51lbs the biggest carp ever caught there. I caught that beauty on a Pineapple Ice cream Pop up presented on a chod rig tied of ESP Leadcore, Ghost 15lbs and size 5 Stiff Rigger MK2 hook. It fought like a beast, but everything held fine.
In honour of the man of the match I named it “Miro”! Klose who not only saved 1 point for Germany, he also equalled the World Cup goal record of Ronaldo (and hopefully will beat it in next game).
And my deepest condolence go to all English football fans… take it easy, you at least got more time to go fishing! (Thanks for that Mario, we feel a lot better now…)
