Swan lake on the Bluebell complex is well known for its head of stunning large carp and has a reputation for being a very tricky venue.
Although the lake has been fishing very slow in recent weeks, Kev Hewitt managed to enjoy a blinding session slipping the net under no less that 13 fish during his 48 hour stay.
Kev’s stunning tally of carp included fish of 19Lb, 20Lb, 23.8, 24.8, 27.8, 29.2, 29.6, 29.14, 34.3, 34.7, 36.2, 38.4 and 40Lb 10oz.
In amongst this, Kev reached an incredible milestone when he slipped the net under his 100th UK 30Lb + carp. Kev’s successful Stiff rig components incorporated size 7 ESP Ready Made Chod Rigs attached to 25Lb Two Tone. Fishing at 95 yards range, Kev was armed with ESP sniper MK2 12ft 3.25tc rods and 10Lb ESP Syncro XT mainline.
Kev was out with Total Carp Magazine at the time for a live feature which will outline the successful rig and bait and is certainly one not to be missed. Out in December.
