Designed specifically for long distance casting with heavy leads or spods. These new tapered leaders replace the original 13m ESP leaders. The shorter length makes them easier to use and when using a 12’ carp rod, the 9m length equates to roughly three or four turns on a big pit reel plus the length of the rod above the reel, plus a 5 or 6 foot casting drop down from the tip ring.
Their ultra slick surface finish means they absolutely fly out through the rings and their greatly reduced stretch ensures that all the casting power is transmitted directly to the lead.
The diameter at the thin end of the leaders is 0.37mm (15lb) tapering up to 0.59mm (40lb) ensuring enough strength and shock absorption to handle the biggest leads and spods on the longest casts, whilst also providing excellent abrasion resistance and fast sink rate . The packaging helpfully details how to tie the Mahin knot to connect the mainline and leader, an exceptionally strong and streamlined knot.
