Jo rocks the Boat!

After her recent success on Longfield Road Lake, Jo Green headed to the Boat Pool at Horton. Here’s what happened:

‘Having looked at the weather forecast before I left home, with fresher north easterly winds on the way, the obvious choice would be to fish on the back of it, the only problem
was, the swim I chose was one known as the concrete swim, which meant no pegs and and nowhere to put in banksticks, however I found a way, a flower pot for the front and
a log and stage stand for the back, simple but very effective.

The improvised set up!

All the effort paid off and I was rewarded the next morning when I banked the rarely caught koi known as the black and white, followed by a cracking mirror of 31lb 8oz the next day.

Now stranger things have happened on the bank but i wasn,t expecting this, exactly 48hours after I caught the black and white, I had a screaming run on the same rod and on the same spot I couldn’t believe it when the fish slipped over the cord, there he was again the black and white, he doesn’t normally visit the bank often, then he turns up twice in 48hrs, bizarre’.
