‘Just dropping you some pics of my first fish of the year from the syndicate I’m fishing and I’m over the moon with this one!
I got down for a one night session at 5pm and on arrival the normal swims I’d fancy at this time of year were all taken. An hours walking round gave me a sign though and I spotted a good fish show up the other end so set up there. A hundred krill boilies over krill wafters fished on all 3 rods and we were angling.
Nothing happened through the night but at 1pm all hell broke loose and I hooked an absolute powerhouse of a carp. It certainly gave me the run around trying to go everywhere I didn’t want it to! After 20 minutes we could see a good mirror rolling about and finally she was ready and I pulled her over the net.
When I got a good look I was proper buzzed up as its a fish that was very high on my wanted list. My good mate Tel Dempsey caught it four years ago and it hasn’t been caught since as far as we know, the tail and fins on this fish are immense!
I used tubing and an ESP lead clip to 5″ of Tungsten Loaded tied to 2” of Bristle Filament and a size 5 Cryogen Stiff Rigger’.
